Racing Birthday Party

I am very fortunate that my 9 year old son still wants me to create his birthday parties. This year we went with a Racing theme. This was the birthday party invitation I made up on powerpoint.

First I made each child a drivers license from etsy shop. I made the lanyards from duct tape. They each got a license plate that I found at the Dollar Tree and I put their names on them.

More decorations... each child had a trophy with their name on it, along with the goody bags that had things from the Dollar Tree (little race cars, race car watches, flying race car disks, whistle and tattos)

Each child chose a race car to race down the track my husband made. Super cute huh?!

Helping daddy make the race track

Mason wanted race track food, so we went with hotdogs, nachos and popcorn.

Peanuts, chocolates, and gummy hotdogs

Ice cream birthday cake

Add the birthday boy- he's so cute

My son turned 8 and wanted a Harry Potter Party. So I was at it again, creating and making. However, I used a ton of pinterest ideas. Oh, how I love that site.

Cake was from Baskin Robins. We love the fudge crunch cake. They did a fabulous job!

Food was from subway. I made butterbeer (not a big hit, I added too much butter rum extract)

Found these cool bottles from goodwill and added some fun labels. To make them look aged, I took an electric sander to the glass to scuff it up.

Chocolate frog boxes I printed from the computer.

I love how the invites turned out. This was the inside and the outside looked like an envelope, which I folded in half.

I used a table cloth and cut it into parts to add a little more decorations. I also printed off the jellybean containers.

I printed off an image and made an iron on transfer.

I printed off the sign and mod-podged it to cardboard and then lit the sides on fire to make it look old.

Stickers I found at Joann Fabrics

More potions

I made oreo balls and wrapped them in gold foil to make them look like golden snitches

Another Banner I made

I made the wall using a shower curtain, red enamel paint and a sponge.

I love how he used his wand to try and put the candles out. Made for a cool picture!

I hope this will inspire you in creating the most magical Harry Potter party.

Webkinz Birthday Party

My son wanted a Webkinz Birthday party for his 7th birthday. It took a few weeks to plan, but here are some pictures of the preparations.

Just as they do on Webkinz, I made a shedule to inform the guests about all the activities.
OPERATION GUMBALL: They will be making a guess of how many gumballs are in the gumball machine. (closest one to-wins!)
WHEEL OF WOW: children will spin the wheel and win prizes. My husband made the wheel-GREAT JOB!

BALLOON DARTZ: children will use a sharpened dowel stick to pop the balloons. Each balloon has 3 pieces of candy inside. The balloons are taped to the plywood board.

GEM HUNT: for this I made "fake rocks" with "gems" inside them. The children will break them open to reveal the gem they found. The gem will then be added to their crown (Burger King Crowns)

Rocks while they are drying
CHEF'S CHALLENGE: ice cream sundaes- choose three toppings to add to your icecream and make your creation.
OPERATION ADOPTION: each child will take webkinz home with them. I found these on sale after christmas for $2.99 each :).

The Webkinz came in these bags. I am going to give the children a bag when they first come in to keep all their goodies in as they play the games.

WACKY ZINGOS: I made a pinata filled with candy and small toys for the kids to enjoy.
